Utility Billing:
The City of Ruston’s Utility Billing department is responsible for billing and collecting payments for water, sewer, garbage, and recycling services. You can pay your utility bills online, by mail, or in person at the Customer Service office located at City Hall – 401 N. Trenton Street.

To pay your utility bill online, visit the City of Ruston’s website and click on the “Utility Billing” tab. From there, you can view your bill, make a payment, or sign up for automatic bank draft. You can also pay by mail by sending a check or money order to the City of Ruston, PO Box 307, Ruston, LA 71273-0307.

If you need to make a payment in person, the Customer Service office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Drive-thru service is also available for your convenience.

You can download and fill out the application form from the City of Ruston’s website or pick one up at the Customer Service office. Once your application is received, a customer service representative will contact you to collect your deposit.

Commercial Applications:
If you’re a business owner looking to start utility service, you’ll need to submit a Commercial Application Form. Prior to submitting the application, you’ll need to complete the Certificate of Occupancy application on the MyGovernmentOnline.org portal.

Once you’ve completed the Certificate of Occupancy application, you can submit the Commercial Application Form, along with the required documents, to the City of Ruston’s Customer Service department.

Disconnect:
If you’re moving out of Ruston or need to disconnect your utility services, you can submit the Utility Service Disconnect Form, along with a copy of your state or federal ID. You can also disconnect recycling and outside city limits garbage services using the same form.

Other Services:
The City of Ruston’s Customer Service department offers additional services, such as changing your mailing address, signing up for electronic billing, and reinstating recently disconnected utilities. You can submit the Change of Address form, Electronic Bill Enrollment form, and Reinstatement of Utilities Form, along with a copy of your state or federal ID, to the Customer Service office.
